Reading

Fiction

Currently, I am reading Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, translated by Constance Garnett. Afterwards, I will probably read his Notes from Underground, and then his The Brothers Karamozov. Before Crime and Punishment, I had just finished Giovanni's Room by James Balwin. It is one of my favorite books- I really enjoyed its piercing look into the main character's psyche.

Non-fiction

I recently finished An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sacks. I thoroughly enjoyed Sack's casual and inquisitive writing style as he describes each individual person. Although there were definitely some writings in the disability case-studies that used dated language and thinking, Sacks' descriptions were still humanizing, and gave very interesting insights as to how the human brain works. I will probably read his works The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat, Awakenings, and Hallucinations next.

Movies

I love movies. I enjoy watching movies about inspirational real-life figures, movies with complex themes, plots, and characters, and also "classics" to understand different vibes of different times. The movies on the side are some that I hope to watch, and one that I did. Check out my letterbox @eclecticcurve.
